Every year it happens.
First bit of sun shows up and suddenly your front end is covered in bugs.
Bonnet. Bumper. Mirrors. Windscreen.
They don’t just sit there. Given a bit of heat and time, they can actually mark the paint in the same way bird mess does.
Why Bugs Are Worse Than They Look
Bug splatter isn’t just dirt.
When the panel sits in the sun the clear coat warms up and softens slightly.
The dried bug splatter then changes how that small area heats and cools compared to the paint around it.
As the car goes through that hot and cold cycle day after day, the clear coat can start to distort and mark.
That’s why you’ll sometimes see faint outlines of bugs that won’t wash off.
Same as bird poo, just in smaller localised areas across the front.
The Mistake Most People Make
Most people just try and wash them off with shampoo.
Or worse, scrub harder.
By the time they’ve baked on, they’re properly stuck.
So you end up applying pressure which is exactly what you don’t want to be doing on your paint.
What Actually Works
You need something that breaks them down.
We use GYEON Bug and Grime in the workshop and it just makes it easy.
Spray it on, let it sit for a minute, and it softens everything so it rinses away properly.
No scrubbing. No fighting it.
It’s one of those things you don’t think you need until you use it once.
Where to Use It
Anywhere bugs build up
• Front bumper
• Bonnet
• Wing mirrors
Anything facing forward really.
When to Use It
If you’ve done a motorway run or you can see them building up, use it before your main wash.
Don’t leave it sitting there for weeks cooking into the paint.
The sooner you deal with it, the better.
Simple Process
Spray onto a dry panel
Let it dwell for a minute or two
Rinse with a pressure washer
Then carry on with your normal wash
Done.
Why We Rate It
There’s loads of products that claim to do this.
This is just one that actually works and doesn’t make life harder.
Which is kind of the whole point of the shop.
